Posy, the youngest, loves her sisters but is also self-centered and focused on her dancing. This is the first time she's ever been away from her sisters since she was a baby, and the letters trace that relationship even as they're hundreds and thousands of miles apart. This past weekend the weather was lovely, so I took on the project of taking out the massive, invasive butterfly bush that was planted by the previous owners. It's been on the to do list for ages, and I'm very happy to have it finally done! We've so much more space now, and we won't have to worry about constant pruning to keep it from growing over the garden path. I thought for sure I was going to have to take up part of the path to dig it out, but somehow the roots were positioned such that it barely disturbed the path at all. I did relocate a number of strawberries and a few bulbs, but I had been planning on moving them anyway, so no loss there.
I also cleared out dead growth from the square plot and found a lot of new calendula coming up, which is always exciting to see. I'm hopeful that I won't need to plant anything new in that bed, and that everything will have either self-seeded or will come back up on its own as the weather warms. My goal is to have most of the garden full of perennials and self-seeding annuals so I've less to do in terms of planting every year, but there's still lots of space to fill, so it'll be a couple of years yet before that's realized.
And in the backyard, I got the nettle potted up! It would be exciting to see that flourish this summer - safely far away from places people walk, and helpfully contained so as not to cause A Problem. I still want a few more pots out there for other aggressive spreaders - I have lemon balm I need to relocate from the front, and various other seeds in the mint family I'd like to plant without them taking over.

With a summary like that you would expect nothing more than a PWP, but this is the furthest from that. We all know that Whitaker comes from Broken Bow, Nebraska and grew up on a farm with 3 brothers. But we never get any of that backstory - toxic or good - in canon.
Well that backstory shows up here, almost like there needed to be a wonderful plot to go along with the accidental dick pic share. We get to see Whitaker's parents and his brothers - and how he and one of his brothers escaped that small-town/small-mindedness. I'm not saying his one brother that "escaped" the mentality is all that great, but I know these small-town folks. Hell, I'm related to a lot of them. And I can read a compliment from what sounds like a bigot trying to do better, even if they don't have a frame of reference for that.
Basically, this is a fic about getting out of a small town, and leaving the small-mindedness behind.

Time travel may be impossible for everyone else, but Jiang Cheng has one slender, delicate chance to save the entire world. Of course he has to take it no matter what the cost might be.
Reccer's Notes: As soon as I saw this month's theme, I thought of this story. While time travel fix-its and core reveal fix-its are both common in the fandom, this story handles both tropes in ways I haven't seen any other story do. It also features amazing original characters, including several badass women of the Meishan Yu sect, and gives Jiang Yanli one of the best storylines I've ever seen. The rating is because there's still a war, and some characters still die, but it's a far different war, and they are far different deaths.
I do feel like I have to provide a caveat that this could use a serious line edit, by which I mean there is a grammatical or spelling error in nearly every sentence. It really says something that, despite this, I couldn't put the story down, and devoured all 100K+ words of it in the space of two nights.

Think about a kinkmeme and you've got the right idea. In this one, we're looking for adult-oriented fic: "Adult-oriented" covers sexually explicit, violent, horror, and dark fic of all stripes.
The prompt fest is a little looser than the NFE -- fills must be 300 words instead of 1000, you can submit up to 25 prompts, you can claim as many as you want, multiple people can fill the same prompt, there's no tag set, crossovers and fusion-fics are allowed! Only two real rules: 1) you must be over 18 to participate and 2) fills should be adult-oriented, so think the AO3 ratings of Explicit and Mature.
Prompting is going to open Friday, March 20th. Here's the schedule:
Prompting period: March 20th to March 30th
Prompt claiming period: March 31st to April 7th
Fics due date: May 1st
Fic reveals: May 2nd
