Another Homemade Parcel lands safely
So, postage from NZ to the US seems to be pretty normal; two and a half weeks is well within the antipodean mail expectations for delivery. Mail coming from the US to NZ seems to be another story. Anyway, today is about my second parcel, which went to
boysinperil.
So, I made some lasercut wall art:

I digitally drew Mary and the bees and the honeycomb and then laser cut it and glued it onto painted mdf. I really love laser cutting and getting to do a mixture of quite fine detailed art wood and other hard materials.
Drawstring bag:

And details of the sunflowers:

I love embroidery, and this was a style I don't do often. On the plus side, my french knots improved markedly as a result of doing this design
Handing knitted hexagon thing with bee:

And the other side, with a manuka flower:

I thought this might be nice hanging in a closet with some moth-repelling scented oils, but I just stuffed it with wadding. The flower is a manuka, which is a NZ native. Honey from manuka flowers has extra special antimicrobial properties, so it seemed the perfect thing to go on the back of the bee.
I had a lot of fun on these gifts, and I especially loved getting to do a range of different things again.
